At Protection Unlimited, Inc., we’ve adopted several initiatives to help reduce the environmental burden on our community.

  • Reduce: We’ve made a commitment to reduce the amount of waste generated by our day-to-day operations. This includes the use of compact fluorescent lighting, reducing the pile of paperwork by moving to online-based solutions, and utilizing smaller, more energy-efficient work vehicles and carefully-planned service schedules.

  • Reuse: We routinely refurbish communicators pulled from the field and reuse them in new installations. We also repurpose old metal enclosures in new installations, saving them from the landfill.

  • Recycle: Let’s face it. The alarm industry produces a fair amount of battery waste. Each and every alarm system out there in the world contains at least one backup battery that will go bad after about five years. They contain toxic metals and chemicals that should never, under any circumstances, be placed in the landfill. We have partnered with a local recycler to take all of the spent batteries we’ve pulled from the field and recycle them according to current RIOS standards.
